The T.E.M. Process
T.E.M. Energy Solutions has developed a process that is designed to meet your exact needs. Our staff understands that your requirements are very specific and extremely unique. Our energy audit is the first step to understanding how your energy is being utilized or wasted within your facility.
The T.E.M. process will help define specific energy savings opportunities, while creating an expectation detailing how, when, and where you can save money.

Our Process:
Energy Audit & Overview: T.E.M. is on-site to document your existing systems, and will model your current energy usage. We begin to assess areas that would benefit from an upgrade and document our findings. T.E.M. then presents the collected data in a format that is easily understood, and offer a suggested course of action for upgrades.
Financial Assessment: This includes an overview of each upgrade, and an initial cost estimate that is compared directly to the projected energy savings. If there is a business case for improvements, and our client agrees, we begin the process of submitting utility rebates for the project.
Project Review & Commitment: An implementation plan that includes final cost and savings estimates is developed for our client. We begin to structure a contract that will provide our client with a low impact financial plan to help pay for improvements over a set number of years. In most cases, the total cost does not exceed your current budget for utility expenses over the given time period. Our goal is to minimize costs while maximizing your return on investment.
Project Implementation: Once the contract is signed, T.E.M. will begin the process of implementing your new energy management solutions. We serve to manage the project from beginning to end and will minimize any disruptions. This phase includes installation, testing and training. We also provide maintenance and support on an ongoing basis to ensure we are there if you need us.
Utility Company Incentives and Financing: There are many different programs available throughout the United States. Each program has its own unique requirements, so it is critical that we identify whether or not the project components will qualify. If your project does qualify, we need to ascertain what level of rebate dollars the utility company will commit to.

T.E.M. Energy Solutions works with our clients by providing an understanding of these incentives. We include the documentation required to ensure that your project will receive the maximum refund and help guide you through the process.
Some projects have seen as high as 70% of their installation cost paid for by the local utility company. Other programs include set rebates for a specific upgrade (often called a prescriptive rebate) and zero interest loans to help finance a project. Our final report will include a projected cost, funding/incentive opportunities and a projected return on investment comparison.
Tax Credits
In 2005, the Federal Government created the Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction for projects completed before January 1, 2014. A deduction can be claimed that covers up to the entire deductible cost of investing in the installation of energy efficient commercial building property.
The Cost of Doing Nothing
Once we have determined the potential savings and costs associated, most customers begin to think about the cost of not taking action. On average, our solutions are able to save the typical organization between 10% and 40% off of their annual utility expenses.
Let's assume that your annual utility expenses were $100,000 per year. Let's also assume that you we were able to implement a lighting or HVAC control system that will save 20% per year. In the first five years, your organization would save $100,000. If the solution cost $30,000, you would still save $70,000 and your system would be paid for in 18 Months!!
